Quality of a Dreamworks Mattress

On Dreamworks pocket sprung mattresses each spring is individually wrapped in its own material ‘pocket’. This allows each spring to work independently of the others thus eliminating roll together, and providing the right support and comfort to your body. Alternatively Dreamworks more affordable mattresses feature a fine Bonnel open coil spring unit that has been developed and used by the industry over the last 70 years. Most Dreamworks mattresses are available with a choice of firmer or standard spring tensions. Dreamworks double sided mattresses are manufactured with generous layers of quality upholstery placed on both sides of the springs, for ultimate comfort. Modern methods of mattress construction now also allow single sided mattresses to be successfully produced. These products do not require turning, however, regular top to toe rotation will extend the life of the mattress. Superior natural materials; horse hair, cashmere, silk, cotton and wool are used to produce a high quality mattress that provide a sumptuous resilient sleep surface. Alternatively, Dreamworks superbly luxurious ventilated Latex which is ventilated for ultimate comfort. Memory foam or Visco is a quite recent introduction to Dreamworks mattress making. Developed by the NASA space agency, to provide comfort for astronauts, it moulds to the contours of your body. Memory foam works best at temperatures in excess of 20 degrees C. At Dreamworks Beds, they combine memory foam with springs, to provide the best of both technologies. Dreamworks provide high resilient upholstery, which includes luxurious mixed white fibres; this can extend the life of your mattress. This multi-layer upholstery provides extra comfort and peace of mind. Dreamworks pillow top mattresses resemble a slim pillow that has been sewn onto the top of a traditional mattress. This gives a softer feel to the mattress whilst retaining a firmer support beneath the pillow top. The very best weavers in Europe manufacture Dreamworks beds mattress fabrics, or “ticking’s”, as they are known in the trade. High quality jacquard, knitted and chenille fabrics are used. Each of these ticking’s are colourfast and extremely hard wearing. Traditional hand side stitching is the ultimate addition to a pocket spring mattress. Hand side stitching is the mark of a skilled upholsterer and strengthens the mattress borders, allowing the full width of the bed to be used. Machine stitched borders are an alternative process that reinforces the mattress borders, enhancing the visual appeal. Ventilators are inserted into the mattress borders allowing air to circulate freely through your mattress so moisture can escape. Dreamworks beds use extra strength handles, which are securely stitched to the mattress borders. They are provided to help when the mattress needs manoeuvring on its base. Lifting the mattress with the handles is not recommended due to the weight of quality mattresses. Due to the volume of upholstery materials in top quality mattresses, it is necessary to ’tuft’ the mattress. This means passing a tuft (cord) through the mattress, effectively locking all of the loose materials safely in place. The tufts are completed with either woollen rosettes or felt collars depending upon the model. The length of tufts used influences the tension of the mattress. Dreamworks beds use sophisticated machinery sews through all the upholstery layers on each mattress panel. These panels are laid on to the spring unit, and then attached to the mattress unit by experienced people to produce exceptional value for money mattresses.

Dreamworks Divan Beds

All Dreamworks divan bed base wood is carefully pre selected. Only kiln dried, virtually knot free timber is used, as this has significantly reduced moisture content. This careful selection ensures the stability of the frame which is vital to support the weight of our quality mattresses. All of dreamworks divans are manufactured to the same high quality, regardless of the cost of the mattress. Solid timber corner blocks strengthen the divan. These are used in all divan corners to ensure good support and excellent tailoring. The blocks safely secure the various castors etc that are used. Although dreamworks use the best timber, they still line most of our bases, under the divan fabric, to enhance the appearance of your divan. Sprung bases offer a high level of comfort and support to your mattress. The frame is glued and then secured together. A full size open coil spring unit is fixed to the frame of the divan. These types of bases are especially suited to pocket sprung mattresses, as together, they will provide two levels of spring support. For those people preferring a firmer feel, a solid top to the divan is the ideal choice. The base is glued together and then fixed to form a very rigid platform. A firm edge base has a timber surround into which a spring unit is placed. Dreamworks Beds utilise a complete spring system for our firm edge bases, not the more conventional option of fewer and larger springs. Black legs, with twin wheel castors, are supplied as standard; however, beech or chrome legs can be specified as an alternative. A variety of drawer options are available. We offer a range of two and four drawer combinations. All of our drawers are padded on the fronts, fully lined on the back and have beech colour interiors. Dreamworks Beds are supplied with various supports depending on the model. These range from ball castors, twin wheel castors and beds on legs or glides. All of the castors offer simple movement of your divan and are selected for their strength and ability to support. Glides are ideally suited for use on wooden floors.

Dreamworks Bed Frames, Headboards and Guest Beds

All Dreamworks wooden bedsteads, headboards and guest beds are crafted from hard woods. Many are supplied in rubber wood, the ultimate ‘green’ product. The timber is only harvested when the rubber tree has reached the end of its rubber producing life. Others are created from Oak. Dreamworks beds offer both traditional and contemporary designs. A selection of colours and sizes are available ranging from 90cm to 180cm (depending on model). Many of other companies use wood planks for slats with wide gaps. These can seriously damage the mattress and be less comfortable because they offer very little support. At Dreamworks Beds the slats are engineered using special hardwood laminations. The slats are strengthened then curved into shape and sealed. The luxury sprung slats are enclosed in durable rubberised suspension cups that are supported by a steel rail. This effectively offers a similar level of comfort to an upholstered sprung base
